Different Types of Membership


REALTOR® Member - Primary Membership

The broker in your new office determines whether or not they wish to hold membership at the REALTORS® of Punta Gorda-Port Charlotte-North Port-DeSoto, Inc.®.  When he/she elects to hold membership, you are also required to have a membership at  The REALTORS® of Punta Gorda-Port Charlotte-North Port-DeSoto Inc.®. If your broker has a membership at another board in addition to the membership at The REALTORS® of Punta Gorda-Port Charlotte-North Port-DeSoto Inc.®,  you have “board of choice” and can choose which board to join. 

REALTOR® membership is three-tiered. Members of The REALTORS® of Punta Gorda-Port Charlotte-North Port-DeSoto Inc.®, also belong to Florida Realtors® (FR) and to the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). A REALTOR® may be a licensed Real Estate Salesperson (or Agent), Broker, or Appraiser. REALTORS® belonging to The REALTORS® of Punta Gorda-Port Charlotte-North Port-DeSoto Inc.® must be licensed by the State of Florida.

 

REALTOR® Member - Secondary Membership

A licensed Real Estate Salesperson wishing to join The REALTORS® of Punta Gorda-Port Charlotte-North Port-DeSoto Inc.®, as a secondary member must have their license hung with a broker who is a member here. The licensee must have primary membership at another board in Florida and be in good standing.

 

MLS Only Broker Membership - MLS Participant/New MLS Office 

MLS Participant/New Office membership is available to any Broker of record who is currently a primary member of another Association in Florida and would like to establish Stellar MLS only access with our Association.

 

MLS Only Agent - MLS Subscriber

MLS Subscriber membership is available to any real estate agent that is a primary member of another Association in Florida and the agent has an active license under a Broker that subscribes to our MLS under our Association.

Unlicensed Administrative Staff

Unlicensed Administrative Staff are administration support for a REALTOR® and will only have access to MLS services. Any unlicensed administrative staff are not members of the REALTORS® of Punta Gorda-Port Charlotte-North Port-DeSoto Inc.®, as they are not licensed real estate professionals.

Become a Business Partner Member

Membership Fees:

  • One Time Application Fee: $50.00
  • Prorated Annual Dues:$180.00 (If paying between January – June); $90.00 (If paying between July – December)

Please keep the following in mind in regards to your application:

  • Applicant will be notified of the upcoming orientation sessions at the time application is received in the Association office;

  • Applicant shall be expected to attend the first orientation offered after applying for membership;

  • All funds will be deposited immediately and are non-refundable;

  • Association staff will submit all applications to the Board of Directors for their approval;

  • Upon completion of the New Member Orientation, the applicant will be formally inducted into the Association;

  • Names of new members will not be forwarded to the State Association and National Association until membership qualifications are met in full;

  • Processing of Business Partner memberships shall be the same as for REALTOR® applicants with the exception of the MLS training and New Member Orientation requirements, which shall be waived;
