Click HERE for NAR's MythBusters information on these issues and remember that is RPAC which prevents these kind of proposals from being included in law.

Half Price on ALL 3 GRI Courses
Effectively immediately, the current online GRI products are available for GRI Designation Credit only. Therefore, any member that registers to take any GRI course online will not be receiving any CE credit (previously, the online GRI-1 product provided CE credit). Any students who enrolled prior to this change and are still active in the course will receive the appropriate credit, however all new registrations will be working towards designation credit only. Furthermore, because the modules do not provide CE credit and are available for designation credit only, the price per module has been reduced to $150 per course.

Florida REALTORS  will be unveiling a new online education platform at the August convention, which will host the GRI product. Once we bring that platform online, all three GRI modules will once again be available for CE or Post Licensing credit.

If you are looking for GRI Credit, this change may provide you a great opportunity to earn your designation at half price!

President's Message
Bob Gray, 2010 Association President
Members,

As most of you know by now, the FAR/BAR contract which many of you use is being replaced at the end of this week and by the end of September that contract will no longer be available. In an effort to bring all of our Brokers and Agents up-to-speed, we are offering free training opportunities during the first two weeks of August. Please read article below entitled "New Florida Contract" for details. I cannot overstate the importance of attending one of these trainings.

I also want to remind you all to check your license renewal status with DBPR as soon as possible. Many of you will have a license renewing at the end of September. Once you find out if you need additional credits, please note that we have MANY opportunities for you between now and the end of September. See the top left of this newsletter or email David-Logan@comcast.net if you have any questions.

Every week, I am going to remind you about the importance of the "Vote No on 4" Campaign. This week I am going to request that you do TWO things. First of all, please click HERE to add NO ON 4 to your facebook page. Once you see the website, click the small "Like" icon at the top center of the page. I am also asking you to consider signing up for NO ON 4 Text alerts. Simply click HERE, enter your cell phone number and you are done. Make sure that you are spreading the word to anyone who will listen: "Vote No On 4"

I look forward to seeing ALL OF YOU at our August 5th Business Card Exchange. See below (or the side bar) for details.

New Florida Contract

As you are aware, the FAR/BAR contract is being replaced by the new Florida Realtors®/Florida Bar contract which has just been finished and set for release on August 1st. This contract will fully replace the FAR/BAR contract by September of this year, so you have a very short window of opportunity to learn about the new contract before the old version goes away. There are significant changes to the new contract so you do not want to miss the following opportunities to learn about these important changes with instructor Bill Perrault. Please note that even if you do not use the FAR/BAR contract, you are likely to be on the other end of a deal where it is used; therefore, this training is for anyone who works in the residential market.

Friday, Aug 6th 9am – 12pm: Brokers/Managers Only
Monday, Aug 9th 1pm – 4pm: Open to All Realtor® Members
Tuesday, Aug 10th 1pm – 4pm: Open to All Realtor® Members
